Here's how your messaging will make you stand out from the pack

It’s tough out there.

The reality is the days of applying with your resume and playing the waiting game are over. Hundreds of folks are doing the same thing.

How do you stand out from the pack in a competitive market?

1) Find 20-30 companies you’re interested in that are hiring for Sales roles

2) Try to find the hiring manager - use LinkedIn [if you can’t find the exact leader, find a few Sales leaders at the company]

3) Use a relevant first line

4) State 3 reasons you’d be a good fit

5) Short call to action (secure a next step)

Then send them a DM.

Here’s an example:

“Hi Linda - Saw your SVP talk about your Northeast expansion in 2023 as a top initiative.

I understand you’re looking for top AEs in the region to help propel your growth.

Here are 3 reasons why I believe I’d make an immediate impact:

  • grew the mid-market business 40% in my patch the last 2 years

  • developed a 4-step prospecting technique that’s helped me land 20+ new logos

  • Self-aware, use data to provide customers with a PoV, and use my cross-functional teammates in every key deal

Could we set aside 15-min to share thoughts?”
